Model geometry

MARE2DEM uses a right-handed coordinate system with the axis pointing down. The axis is the 2D model strike. Therefore, conductivity is invariant in the direction. The usual 2D model will contain receivers and transmitters located along a profile parallel to y axis. MARE2DEM uses SI units so spatial coordinates are specified in meters.

The typical 2D survey has transmitters and receivers parallel to the y axis and usually at x=0 for inline CSEM data.
